Re-Post: "We Don't Need No Education"

images: jazzimcg
While reading one of my new fav blogs, Jazzi McG, I found these photos from Purple Magazine. At first glance I thought, oh how cute. But just a second later I realized that I was looking at children. I am the first to admit that I love fashion magazines mostly for their advertisements, but I have to ask, what are we doing to our children? It is criminal and a real tragedy the way the industry has extended its reach to such a young demographic. Before being able to think entirely freely for themselves and develop their own opinions on what they are being subjected to, we are taking advantage of their innocence and vulnerability--the very essence of childhood.
What do you think?

7 Days. Just 7 Days.

images: fashiongonerogue
Papers, exams, Shalom Harlow...oh my! The first two are sending me straight towards a meltdown, the last is distracting me from working on the first two...therefore speeding up the pace at which I am headed towards said meltdown. 7 days left until freedom (for a bit). Wish me luck!

Hate To Be A Hater But Somethings Just Are What They Are

images: nymag
Like everyone else I know, when I heard "Rodarte for Target" my heart jumped for joy. However, after seeing the look book via The Cut, I am pretty bummed out. For real, what is going on?! Am I totally out of my mind? Is this collection actually amazing in disguise?
Do tell....

Angels Take the Stage 2009

images: jak&jil
I have long been a fan of the VS Fashion Show and am always amazed (ridiculously jealous and slightly insecure) while watching, but this year seemed slightly less spectacular. Maybe it's because Heidi didn't walk a lot and my girl Adriana isn't there...
Yet, they still put on a great show! How could they not? They're Angels.

Did you see it? What do you think?

LG Looks....Pretty?

images: elle
I have seldom seen Lady Gaga sans performance gear, so when Elle released these photos from an upcoming issue of the magazine, I was pleasantly surprised. LG has taken the world--music, artistic and fashion world--by storm and I do not foresee a slow down anytime soon. Seriously though, who on earth could rock the McQueen collection like she did? Yup, that's what I thought.
On another note, the serious posting slowdown can be blamed on final season. It is that time of the year where I drown my studious stress in egg nog and hide under a rock. Wish me luck!

Remembering Daul Kim

images: nymag
2009 has been a year plagued with loss and sadness. Daul Kim left a large mark on fashion as an industry as well as a culture and she will be greatly missed. My thoughts go out to her family.
Rest in peace Daul Kim.

OMFG. Yes, So Serious I Had To Abbreviate.

images: luxirare
This is so f***ing wild, I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped down to the floor. You need to check out Luxirare to see the photos (and more!) enlarged. They are even more impressive when they are bigger. Using the YSL Cage Heel as inspiration, Luxirare decided (yes, just decided) to make a coat that fit the fabulosity of the shoes themselves. And...this Chain Jacket is the birth child of such brilliant inspiration and creativity.
