This weekend Paris was blessed with the most gorgeous sunshine I have seen in quite some time. The air was still chilled but the sun has a way of bringing out the best of moods in this California girl. The boyf and I headed out to Le Marais to check out an antique market and got pleasantly lost amidst the twisted alley-ways that make up the neighborhood. Among the throngs of vintage Hermes scarves, designer jewelry and glamour-centric fur coats (of course, photos weren't allowed!) I did find a few fun random things...I am obsessed with shades of blue and orange right now and thought these old tins were just fab. And how could the inner Media Studies student in me not love the Sigmund Freud comic book?!
With fashion week quickly approaching I can't help but look back and get re-inspired by the looks from last year. These looks are über-feminine, each with their own allure...definitely keeping these in mind while I attempt to carve my way through January sale season!
What are some of your favorite inspirations from last year?
Confession: I am not a Ruby Aldridge fan. Everyone seems to love her but I can't seem to find the appeal. After a long, cold winter, I can't tell if it's Ruby or California's hot sun that makes me so in love with this spread from Harper's Bazaar February 2011 but it literally has me aching for warmer days, bare legs and a big green skirt.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to style a shoot with my dear friend Jonathan and fabulous photographer, Lauren. Here are a few shots from the fun, more are sure to follow!
I am a seriously sentimental kind of girl. Moving out of an apartment, taking old clothes to the thrift shop, flipping through childhood photos - it can all bring on the tears! The end of the year is no different. Each New Year I am faced with the fact that another year has passed and I get a bit weepy-eyed about the good times that have occurred. But since there's not a thing one can do, eventually we embrace the changing times. Tommy Ton took a look through the stylistic wonders of 2010 and came up with a list that no one could argue with. Above are my favorites...Mirsolava is always a favorite of mine, Shala already dropped my jaw with this photo earlier this year and ADR is unstoppable.
What are some of your favorite fashion memories from 2010?

Though I would love to add color into my winter wardrobe, it seems that black is what always makes the final cut when wrapping up for the cold weather outside.
These pieces from Morganne Bello's newest collection, Dolce Vita, are topping my "never gonna happen" section of my Christmas list. But ooh, are they pretty to look at.
Sometimes getting dressed is just not an option. Sitting at home sick, slurping on some homemade soup (made by the boyf) and virtually getting dressed on Polyvore - the only way I was going to get out of my pajamas in any matter of speaking. The All Saints trousers, Mirabella studded jacket and Alberto Guardiani lipstick heels make my beat just a bit faster.
Okay, I am officially inspired. I have been DYING to find a red scarf EXACTLY like this one. Seriously. I have been searching shops, flea markets, you name it, to find a scarf just like the one above. I'm actually not sure how much more to express this fact...I want it! Punky B just went DIY with it and made her own...I'm not sure I have that type of dedication in me, but at this point, who knows!? I neeeeed this scarf.
Zara is giving Starbucks a run for their money on who really owns the streets of Paris. Always a die-hard fan of Zara's fast-fashion, even I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the reality that I enter a Zara store multiple timesa week. The store is completely unavoidable. There is one in the path of my route to work, school, coffee, wherever, everyday. Yet, I'm just not sick of it. Oh no. I have picked up quite a few items I've been wanting to share with you, but as I'm sure you're sick of hearing, the cold has practically got me running for cover! There are so many pieces this season that just say, "Wear me!" Like that little red number...ooh how many times I've thought of you!
Is there anything that's got you head over heels this season?
