Since I was a little girl I have dreamed of living in France. It sounds so cliché, I know, but it is so true. My best friend and I vowed we would go to college in Paris when we were five, my family moved there when I was in middle school, I took my first journey to the city of light when I was 17 and have fallen so deeply in love with this city that not one day goes by that I think about the big move.
Photos like this are like cupid's arrow right into my heart.

Day 1: 23 More To Wait

Today is the first day of school and it is officially storming outside. Any attempt to put together an ensemble was a miserable failure--it only took two seconds to get soaked to the bone. Enjoying my long break between classes, watching the Food Network and cozying up in front of my heater I am getting oh so excited for New York Fashion Week. These photos just get me anxious for what's to come!

Whose Winter Wonderland Is It?

Last February I spent a lovely week escaping our bone chilling winter in paradise. Also known as Hawaii. Though I love winter, as I've mentioned before, it was so magical to be able to experience "summer in winter." Driving around Oahu with the top down and a warm breeze hitting my skin, walking around in a bikini at midnight...total paradise.
Garance's post takes me back to the utter bliss I felt during that week. Rio is a place I've always dreamed to go and hopefully soon I'll know what their paradise feels like!

It's a slow moving day and I'm feeling like relaxing. Listening to my Morcheeba Pandora mix, halfway cleaning the house, halfway reading blogs, completely content in my bathrobe doing absolutely nothing. I'm in a mood but I'm not sure how to describe it or what it's called. That seems to be the case with these portraits from Jessie Craig. The vibe of each subject rings through the photo and makes complete sense...even if it's indescribable. Definitely one of my favorite photographers, Jessie has the power to capture the mood in every single photo.

Though I am limited by my feeble student budget, I am still lucky enough to find myself on the plane from time to time. However it is with a double edged sword: my international flights mean brilliant travels but they also mean a long, awful entrapment in coach seating. How luxuriously fabulous would it be to have the room to move around like this?!

Celebration Has A New Face

Yesterday I celebrated my 23rd birthday lazing around the house, eating at my favorite breakfast place and doing absolutely nothing. Sometimes the change of pace makes space for new revelations. Now I think I am much more prepared to take on 2010. Or at least I hope!

While reading one of my new fav blogs, Jazzi McG, I found these photos from Purple Magazine. At first glance I thought, oh how cute. But just a second later I realized that I was looking at children. I am the first to admit that I love fashion magazines mostly for their advertisements, but I have to ask, what are we doing to our children? It is criminal and a real tragedy the way the industry has extended its reach to such a young demographic. Before being able to think entirely freely for themselves and develop their own opinions on what they are being subjected to, we are taking advantage of their innocence and vulnerability--the very essence of childhood.
