With fashion week quickly approaching I can't help but look back and get re-inspired by the looks from last year. These looks are über-feminine, each with their own allure...definitely keeping these in mind while I attempt to carve my way through January sale season!

Looking Back: 2010's Best-Dressed

I am a seriously sentimental kind of girl. Moving out of an apartment, taking old clothes to the thrift shop, flipping through childhood photos - it can all bring on the tears! The end of the year is no different. Each New Year I am faced with the fact that another year has passed and I get a bit weepy-eyed about the good times that have occurred. But since there's not a thing one can do, eventually we embrace the changing times. Tommy Ton took a look through the stylistic wonders of 2010 and came up with a list that no one could argue with. Above are my favorites...Mirsolava is always a favorite of mine, Shala already dropped my jaw with this photo earlier this year and ADR is unstoppable. 

What are some of your favorite fashion memories from 2010?

Virtually Dressing

Sometimes getting dressed is just not an option. Sitting at home sick, slurping on some homemade soup (made by the boyf) and virtually getting dressed on Polyvore - the only way I was going to get out of my pajamas in any matter of speaking. The All Saints trousers, Mirabella studded jacket and Alberto Guardiani lipstick heels make my beat just a bit faster.

Fast-Fashion Addiction

Zara is giving Starbucks a run for their money on who really owns the streets of Paris. Always a die-hard fan of Zara's fast-fashion, even I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the reality that I enter a Zara store multiple times a week. The store is completely unavoidable. There is one in the path of my route to work, school, coffee, wherever, everyday. Yet, I'm just not sick of it. Oh no. I have picked up quite a few items I've been wanting to share with you, but as I'm sure you're sick of hearing, the cold has practically got me running for cover! There are so many pieces this season that just say, "Wear me!" Like that little red number...ooh how many times I've thought of you!

Elle Decor Showroom, San Francisco

For the past few weeks I have been scouting out items for to decorate our new little apartment without much luck. I know that all good things take time, but man, I just want it finished already! (I'm not one for patience, hehe). Especially when I see perfectly put homes like the one designed for the Elle Decor Showroom in San Francisco. Located in the uppity St. Francis Wood neighborhood, the 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom home was completely remodeled and vamped up by numerous famed Bay Area designers. Though the $30 entrance fee seems a bit steep just to tour a home, I would probably do it if I were in the Bay. I need the inspiration! Decorating a tiny apartment is much harder than I thought it would be, I was certain I would find things that would be "perfect" with ease. What. Was. I. Thinking?

A while back I was reading The Beautiful Fall which chronicles the amazing and complex lives of Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld and fell in love with the lustrous descriptions of fashion in the 70's. One of the famous characters of the scene was Angelica Huston, model turned Hollywood lover turned actress. Nowness did a feature on her a few days ago and I couldn't help but admire how elegantly she has aged and how stunningly unconventional she was in her youth.

When I was younger I always tried to pull off this look but never accomplished it with ease...I would love to master the scarf for summer!

Ultimate Expression

I'm sure I've mentioned it at some point, but dancing has been my greatest passion since I was a little girl. I went to The Nutcracker each winter and fell in love year after year. At age 10, my mother took me to see Cats--how they moved their bodies into the most bizarre positions with pure bliss and ease, it completely blew me away.

I was enrolled in classes the very next morning.

I have had a religious-like fervor for the art ever since.

Due to an injury and a terrible back, I have been so limited in dancing the last few years that seeing images as beautiful as this make my heart warm up, and sad a little, too. So often we discuss how the arts are deeply fused within the world of fashion, and it would be naive to say otherwise. Dance has always been my ultimate form of expression and when it is fused with the powerful force of fashion, the outcome is utterly breathtaking.
