I am a seriously sentimental kind of girl. Moving out of an apartment, taking old clothes to the thrift shop, flipping through childhood photos - it can all bring on the tears! The end of the year is no different. Each New Year I am faced with the fact that another year has passed and I get a bit weepy-eyed about the good times that have occurred. But since there's not a thing one can do, eventually we embrace the changing times. Tommy Ton took a look through the stylistic wonders of 2010 and came up with a list that no one could argue with. Above are my favorites...Mirsolava is always a favorite of mine, Shala already dropped my jaw with this photo earlier this year and ADR is unstoppable.
What are some of your favorite fashion memories from 2010?
image: thesartorialist Note to self: learn how to pull off the head scarf. When I was younger I always tried to pull off this look but never accomplished it with ease...I would love to master the scarf for summer!
images: fromtherightbank While researching design blogs for work I stumbled upon this fabulous blog, From the Right Bank. It's as if she's seeing straight into my design heart! From the sterile whiten kitche to the daring blue--these are the images I've dreamed of in my own (dream) home. Definitely looking forward to more from this blog!
images: refusestolabel Reading Refuses to Label this morning, I feel like I've suddenly gotten some revelation. They were talking about April being the real time to make a New Years resolution, which honestly makes SO much sense. Why should we make resolutions in the middle of the winter cold when we're least inspired to do anything when we can do it in Spring, the season of change? Thank you ladies, you've officially made me feel better about being 4 months late!
images: luxirare This is so f***ing wild, I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped down to the floor. You need to check out Luxirare to see the photos (and more!) enlarged. They are even more impressive when they are bigger. Using the YSL Cage Heel as inspiration, Luxirare decided (yes, just decided) to make a coat that fit the fabulosity of the shoes themselves. And...this Chain Jacket is the birth child of such brilliant inspiration and creativity.
image: workitberk In addition to slaving over school work and maintaining dirty laundry, I've been writing for the BARE Magazine blog for the past two semesters. If you're interested in what I'm working on there, check it out here. Today marks week one of an on-going UC Berkeley student fashion blogger interview series---whoa, that is a mouth full---starting with Work It, Berk by Brittany Curran. Enjoy :)
